Humanitarian healthcare in Israel's north

Ziv means light. Bringing light to the region.

In a region too often defined by conflict, Ziv Medical Center offers another source of truth: Druze, Jewish, Muslim and Christian professionals working together to heal, protect life, and build what comes next.

The future is already working at Ziv. Help more people see it and strengthen it.

The model

Humanitarian healthcare is regional infrastructure

At Ziv, medicine protects human life and creates working relationships where politics alone cannot.

Under Prof. Salman Zarka's leadership, professionals from across the region care for soldiers, civilians, families, and strangers. Ziv's teams have treated Syrians wounded during the civil war and continue serving communities across Israel's north, close to Lebanon and Syria.

This is not an abstract argument about the future. It is a working regional model, led by people of the region, serving the people of the region, and ready for partners who want to help build what comes next.

The people

Trust begins with people

Prof. Salman Zarka is an Israeli Druze physician and public leader whose life joins medicine, military service, regional relationships, and a lasting commitment to Israel.

He served for 25 years in the IDF Medical Corps, retiring as a Colonel. He helped establish and command the field hospital on Israel’s border with Syria, later served as Israel’s national coronavirus commissioner, and leads Ziv Medical Center as Director General.

Pamela’s trust in Ziv begins with Salman - and with the leadership he has built around him, including Dr. Iris Leitersdorf and Dr. Douaa Bakri, Deputy Directors of Ziv Medical Center.

Under that leadership, Druze, Jews, Muslims and Christians work together every day in the most human of endeavors: caring for life.

It is not an aspiration or a slogan. It is Israel being lived.

Ziv Partners grows from Pamela’s long relationship with Prof. Zarka, his family, and the leadership around him—and from a shared belief in what Israel can become.

What we saw at Ziv

During our visit, rockets and drones were targeting Israel’s north. Ziv itself was under threat. So were the homes, families and communities of the people working inside it.

And they showed up.

Doctors, nurses, administrators and staff came to work and cared for others while carrying the same fears as everyone around them. Leadership was calm. Teams knew what to do. People trusted one another.

It was resilience without performance and leadership without noise.

What we saw at Ziv was not simply a hospital responding to war. We saw an institution whose values held under pressure - Druze, Jews, Muslims and Christians working together, protecting life and one another.

Pamela Dubin — Founder and President, Ziv Partners

That is the Ziv we want others to know.

Ziv Partners exists to bring interested partners and donors closer to that leadership, its needs and its possibilities.

Ziv Partners reflects Pamela’s way of working: personal trust, direct access, a small circle of serious people, and very little noise.

A direct relationship

A direct relationship, with very little noise

Many thoughtful donors are tired of large organizations, constant campaigns, and impersonal fundraising. Ziv Partners is founder-led, volunteer-led, and intentionally lean.

Supporters may come because they trust Pamela's lens, her knowledge of the region, and the people she trusts. They receive meaningful communication when there is something worth sharing, and otherwise, Ziv Partners respects their attention.

The relationships behind the work

Serious people, brought close to the work

Ziv Partners introduces physicians, philanthropists, and community leaders to the people sustaining Israel's north - and keeps those relationships going long after the visit ends.
